The work Julia was involved in surrounding Force of Nature (FoN) centered around creating graphics for their social media, website, and additional materials such as presentations or reports. Force of Nature is a youth-run environmental non-profit focusing on spreading awareness around eco-anxiety and turning this anxiety into agency. A major part of Julia’s work was helping to rebrand FoN’s Instagram and create a more streamlined process for creating graphics.

My work with Force of Nature was all done remotely and across different time zones. As FoN grew, more graphics were needed to support the additional content and work that was being done every day. I assisted in rebranding our Instagram and brand graphics to be more consistent and have an overall look of youthful but presented in a professional way with important topics.

Working under the direction of the Communications Director, we came up with different categories each of our Instagram posts would fall under. We then went back and picked from previous posts I had created to serve as templates for these categories, along with creating new ones. Within these templates, we chose from the organization’s colors, a set of typefaces to keep the content more easily recognized as our brand, and included hand-drawn illustrations to bring in a more personal touch. These illustrations I did within ProCreate. Part of the process was also setting up guidelines for the entire company to turn to for how to create graphics within this new look.
